Liberal MP writes to US court on MP letterhead supporting GANGSTER CRIMINAL: CBC ignores it totally

Liberals defending admitted criminals again?  Another one who is “rehabilitated”?  Another one ready to “reintegrate into society”?  Apparently.  Or is this PURELY RACE-BASED?

Liberals are so weak on crime and law and order, and for such strange reasons, it’s scary.  But moreover, can you just imagine the anti-conservative liberal media hate-fest that would be occurring today if this was a Conservative MP who wrote a supportive letter on MP letterhead instead of a Liberal?  (At least they’d use that one instance to call him a “Conservative Party MP” rather than a “Tory”.)

(Read the whole very well-written article—it’s extremely troubling trying to figure out the reasons this Liberal Party MP would write a letter in support of this man, once you learn about him.)

Surrey MP wrote letter in support of drug trafficker

Sukh Dhaliwal stated to U.S. judge that Ranjit Cheema seemed rehabilitated

Kim Bolan, Vancouver Sun
Published: Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Surrey Liberal MP Sukh Dhaliwal has written to a U.S. District Court judge on official House of Commons stationery in support of convicted international drug trafficker Ranjit Singh Cheema, The Vancouver Sun has learned.

Cheema was sentenced in California this week to five years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiring to smuggle 200 kilograms of heroin from Pakistan to North America in 1998.

The drugs were supposed to be exchanged with cocaine from a Colombian cartel in a deal that was intercepted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Dhaliwal’s letter, dated July 9, 2008 and addressed to Judge Stephen V. Wilson, says the Newton-North Delta MP had met Cheema at “community engagements” and that the gangster seemed to be fully rehabilitated after fighting extradition for 10 years.

“He has become an active member of the community, a father and a husband who set down strong roots in Lower Mainland Vancouver area,” Dhaliwal said in the letter, a copy of which was obtained from Los Angeles court files. “Just having conversations while participating in public events like sports tournaments, I have no doubt that if he is given support and direction, he will be a strong active member of his community in the years to come.”

Lookin’ out for you, those Liberals.

The CBC has nothing that I can hear, see, or find about this story today.  They did cover the amazing fact that Prime Minister Harper had a breakfast for reporters this morning—in a sarcastic “news” report lasting several minutes long (he don’t like the media, ya know!).

EXTRA:

Puts me in the mind of this news story photo from the previous election concerning the fact that prisoners were voting Liberal—including this prisoner who created his own Liberal Party tattoo on his noggin.  (This was obviously before the Conservatives were elected and cancelled the Liberal government’s taxpayer-subsidized prisoner tattoo program in which they could get tattoos for $5.  Seriously.).
