The Germans make great cars, but some of their people are utterly stupid, hypocritical, dishonest, and entirely ignorant, jerks. Take F-1’s Sebastian Vettel (by which I mean take him back to Germany and leave him there, please):
Some of the responses were spot on including these decidedly non-idiotic spot-on observations:
It might also be noted that the team Sebastian Vettel is racing for in gasoline-powered cars all over the world for pure lulz and funzies and dumb-ass entertainment, in the middle of this “climate emergency” that Vettel is so, so very, very concerned about, is Aston Martin — the full official name being Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula 1 Team. So the ARAMCO logo on his shirt wasn’t enough to clue him in to his idiocy, and not even his own team’s name was enough to clue Vettel in.
Here’s a cool photo of their car. They’re very very proud of their Saudi oil sponsorship! (Not so sure getting sponsorship from that crypto company will pan out… see this Newsweek article “If You’d Listened to Matt Damon on Crypto, You’d Have Lost This Much Money” from earlier this week):
Also, it’s fun that this anti-Canadian-oil ass’s team is owned by none other than Lawrence Stroll, a Canadian. A billionaire for some reason, proving once again that the amount of money you have is not commensurate with your judgment skills at least as it pertains to personnel. That’s right, the anti-Canadian-oil ass’s team is owned by a Canadian who has benefitted immensely from Canada’s oilsands wealth, and who presumably drives around in an Aston Martin with a V-12 engine or one of his Ferraris from his famously huge Ferrari collection, Ferrari being a gas-wasting car the love for which he probably got from his time as the owner of a Ferrari dealership in Quebec (or he is chauffeured around in something possibly even worse for what they pretend is the precious environment).
Stroll, by the way, hired his son Lance as the other F-1 team member (each of the ten F-1 teams has two cars and two drivers).
The drivers and their managers will all arrive in Montreal this week, the latest stop in a massive global travel-a-palooza, in at least ten private jets, and the barrage of equipment in probably a dozen privately chartered full-sized specialty cargo jets. Or to put this better, Private f-ing jets hahahahahahahaha are you kidding me those hypocritical asses. And untold dozens of trucks. I couldn’t find any one photo that would best exemplify this travettelsty but just search sebastian vettel private jet. There are hundreds of opulent pics.
CTV News’s Calgary outlet had an article about it with the best non-idiotic quote:
“I have seen a lot of hypocrisy over the years, but this one takes the cake,” said Alberta’s Energy Minister Sonya Savage.
“A race car driver sponsored by Aston Martin, with financing from Saudi Aramco, complaining about the oilsands.”
The Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula 1 Team is in NINTH place out of ten car teams. The two drivers, Vettel and Stroll, individually are also in the bottom half of the twenty drivers: Vettel in 14th, and Stroll in 17th.
Better step on the gas! The gas from evil Saudi oilfields, that is.
Idiots.
