As ClimateGate is more fully digested and the mendacious lamestream media becomes more and more overwhelmed by the presence of the giant BS-detecting elephant in the room, they are hilariously — and very slowly and sheepishly and extremely reluctantly — jumping on board our sanity train (I started with “truth train” but that sounded too much like them).
At some point, the media always jump on board, if only to hide their own failed complicity in originally trying to help cover up their liberal-left, agenda-driving perfidy, and to now portray themselves as the benevolent beacons of shiny truth —we always were, Jack! They are effectively re-writing history of course, and suddenly propelling themselves as the original advocates of truth, rather than the original purveyors-in-chief of all the total BS the enviro-nuts (or any other division of the secular-progressive, liberal left) have been advocating —in this case, such nonsense as the “science is settled”, the “debate is over”, and of course “man-made global warming” — and manifestly, the politics, socio-economic, and ideological farce division of the entire Liberal-Left movement.
Most often they are today writing up articles or reading their news reports on TV as though they are themselves breaking the story. As anybody who reads this blog or several others, they’re actually at least a week late. The sensible set —or what they called “skeptics”, “deniers”, “nutbars”. “Republicans”, “Conservatives”, “idiot bloggers”, or “war criminals”, depending on who you talked to, had started stalking about it when it actually happened.
Others, like the state-owned, socialism-reliant, and studiously sycophantic enviro-nut propagandists at the CBC, now write it up from the purely defensive perspective, insinuating that the breaking ClimateGate story is just short of an assemblage of pure BS from that usual bunch of right-wing—gee I don’t know—“Nazis” or “teabaggers” or “neocons” or “homophobic racists”, or something — always through nuance and insinuation mind you—never actually calling us those things. (Their online commenters do that for them, after the CBC and the other-like minded self-anointed media elites dutifully set them up with their tendentiously-worded articles, and then they actually approve the kind of hate comments I’m referring to in their own forums, thus enabling them to also tout that they are open-minded and advocate “free speech”). Actually it’s the exact same sort of writing style and presentation of “news” that I see whenever the liberal media writes up something about Christianity.
The Telegraph has been particularly candid about the whole ClimateGate thing, perhaps because one of the most notable “man-made global warming” proponents writes at a competing left-wing sheet in the U.K., the Guardian. Its famous left-wing advocate George Monbiot has famously conceded in that paper, since the story broke, that this is all very, very bad for him and them and their sacred movement.

Climate change: this is the worst scientific scandal of our generation
A week after my colleague James Delingpole, on his Telegraph blog, coined the term “Climategate” to describe the scandal revealed by the leaked emails from the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit, Google was showing that the word now appears across the internet more than nine million times. But in all these acres of electronic coverage, one hugely relevant point about these thousands of documents has largely been missed.
The reason why even the Guardian’s George Monbiot has expressed total shock and dismay at the picture revealed by the documents is that their authors are not just any old bunch of academics. Their importance cannot be overestimated, What we are looking at here is the small group of scientists who have for years been more influential in driving the worldwide alarm over global warming than any others, not least through the role they play at the heart of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

What is tragically evident from the Harry Read Me file is the picture it gives of the CRU scientists hopelessly at sea with the complex computer programmes they had devised to contort their data in the approved direction, more than once expressing their own desperation at how difficult it was to get the desired results.
The third shocking revelation of these documents is the ruthless way in which these academics have been determined to silence any expert questioning of the findings they have arrived at by such dubious methods – not just by refusing to disclose their basic data but by discrediting and freezing out any scientific journal which dares to publish their critics’ work. It seems they are prepared to stop at nothing to stifle scientific debate in this way, not least by ensuring that no dissenting research should find its way into the pages of IPCC reports.
And I particularly like Booker’s conclusion:
Our hopelessly compromised scientific establishment cannot be allowed to get away with a whitewash of what has become the greatest scientific scandal of our age.
There are other articles in the Telegraph worth looking at — each headline apparently prefaced with the template “CLIMATEGATE:”, such as this one: Climategate: University of East Anglia U-turn in climate change row. Even the left-wing BBC, which not unlike the CBC are veritable puppets of the enviro-left “man-made global warming” set, are reporting some it somewhat responsibly, if not also sneeringly with healines designed to lay “blame” for the leaking of the emails being “stolen” rather than the bigger story of the massive fraud, cover-up and scandal of the “man-made global warming” farce itself, to wit: “Inquiry into stolen climate e-mails”.
