Top 5 This Week

Billboard Chris wears his heart on his, well, his front and back

The woke progressive left told us (us being the normals, though they didn’t see it that way) that if we didn’t like social media and news media dismissing conservatives and censoring and canceling people who didn’t toe the party line (the party line being censorious left — progressive and woke), we could start our own damn media.

And so we did. There’s a thriving, normal, free-speech-accepting counterpart to almost every censorious and conservative-intolerant and free-speech-intolerant woke-left media brand and type, now.

Of course, I’m being a little arrogant in using the term “we”, here, because I certainly didn’t start my own video platform as the folks behind YouTube counterpart Rumble did, nor did I create Substack as a free-speech “news” media-challenging Mecca, nor buy Twitter and turn it into X, a free-speech platform that didn’t censor and ban Hunter Biden stories or unorthodox “COVID-19” thoughts, or hobble conservatives’ reach —like the inimitable Elon Musk managed to do. (If I had an extra few dozen billion dollars I might have, but I’m sure I could not have done as good a job as Musk has thus far in riling up and freaking out the entire left-wing media, corporate, academic, and political establishment).

But I did start this ardently small-C conservative website, now dubbed PTBS, some 24+ years ago amid a sea of seemingly nothing but liberals, in my country and that other one south of the border. I hired brash conservative and “controversial” (wink — that’s what the “news” media call people they disagree with or hate) pundits like Ann Coulter and Dennis Prager (“They’re American, ya know, and yer site is supposed to be canadiun you idiut!” — as one Toronto Star pundit seemed to try to put it). And I got virtually every Canadian conservative-tolerant writer I asked to contribute (mostly for free!) as well. And then, as if I had to tell you, it and I were ridiculed, threatened, questioned about the sanity of actually putting unabashed conservative thoughts out there in black and white, called a Nazi 8,000 times (you can only imagine what they called our Ann Coulter), and people actually got infuriated at me for having the gall to call a site “Proud To Be Canadian” while it and I were conservative (so, like, how could that be?! — and how dare you?! Yes that was their science), and so much more tolerance and diversity-love ensued.

Against all the odds it’s still here today. So I at least feel like I’m “we”-adjacent.

And by that same logic and history I respect anyone who takes a stand against a tidal wave of today’s left-wing nonsense du jour, which, among other things (yes there can be several at once or in rapid succession) is the radical “gender” ideology cult. And even from conservatives today, I hear the likes of Wow, Joel, I don’t know if you should call it a cult, like that. It might rile people up and etc. Then again, in the days of PTBC yore, conservatives used to caution me against using the term “socialist.”

It’s a CULT. Are we clear? (And there were and are socialists in Canada! Some of these people are the same — coikidink!)

(For my troubles, or because I’ve been so truthful and clear in exposing the lines publicly, I’ve been “blocked” on X by several people including my own premier,  the NDP’s David Eby, who appears — and whose government appears — to be thoroughly ensconced in the cult.)

As somebody who can certainly count himself among the “we” set, “Billboard Chris” Elston can be found across North America and around the world wearing his now-famous sandwich boards adorned with one or another message of science, sanity, and normality. It’s his way of fighting what he, as I did in my quests 24 years ago, believes is a fight that simply has to be fought. I’m all in, but at this point in my life, he has a far better shot at being around 24 years from now than I do.

After trying to get his good message about the “trans-gender” cult on highway billboards (and succeeding a couple of times), but whereupon woke billboard company bosses caved to woke complainers, he made his own damn billboard —out of himself.

Watch this interview Billboard Chris did with the good Megan Kelly this week. You’ll learn things you didn’t know, possibly including the fact that Billboard Chris is most definitely not a lune like the “news” media (and, as you’ll hear, literally every MP in Parliament, including Conservatives) would like to pretend that he is. He is quite the contrary. Very impressive.

(Sadly, the freeze frame below that got auto-selected by the magical computer elves is NOT of the Billboard Chris segment, but the segment prior. This does start at the right segment.)

And as a bonus, here’s part of what it is he and we are up against. This today, from the Canadian federal courts: woke, compelled speech vis-a-vis gender cult, and more on that whole “we’re all dirty white colonizers and genociders” thing courtesy of the Trudeauians and the progressive left. In law courts. In Canada. Compelled woke speech. In court. In Canada. Not Iran. I did not make this up.

P.S. — Note: For the article’s title I was going to go with Not a *chicken* sandwich, um, board. I clearly have difficulties in coming up with delightful headlines lately.
