Followup: The Obnoxious Garth Turner and old Liberal tricks

PTBCwares C2007
It’s just Monday morning but we already we have our PTBC Quote Of The Week.

“This is an old Liberal trick: Equate the national interest with Liberal policies, then question the loyalty of anyone who disagrees.”

It’s by brilliant National Post columnist Lorne Gunter, who writes today about the buffoon-like blog writings of Liberal MP Garth Turner who, as I wrote yesterday, oozed brain poo over the weekend, revealing a bit more of the Liberal Party hidden agenda.  Lorne Gunter’s column is appropriately headlined “The obnoxious Garth Turner”.

I liked it not just because it’s a spot-on analysis in handy bumper-sticker form (it’s not as easy as you think to capsulize Liberal-Left talking points into Ritz cracker-size bon mots).  It’s also because it speaks to lots of issues that sensible non-Liberal Party automaton Canadians are grappling with, not the least of which is the liberals’ Morgentaler award fiasco.

Think about how they—liberals—have tried to subvert honesty and true national sentiment and foist upon us Morgentaler, and what he and all liberals believe in —abortion— as an official “national interest”; a made-up and enforced through officialdom icon of official “national pride”.  Abortion is, as Liberals so often describe it, a “Canadian Value”, to their way of thinking, and if Canadians didn’t already know that, then dammit they’ll tell us, and make it official!  They know what’s good for us.  Then by golly, the debate can be over,  and the science: settled.  (Sound familiar?)

My own blog entry about the legend in his own mind Garth Turner referenced the fact that Turner laughably stretched credulity (even further if that’s possible) by prefacing his plaintive wail of a but… but… but… blog entry with a photo of big ol’ Canadian flag.  He seemed to be trying to convey that remarks like his occur simply because he so truly loves the entire country.  His thoughts are “Canadian Values”.

It’s like a sickness.
