Globe and Mail —
SNOB CITY — Last week I wrote that they were dismissing pickup truck drivers as the worst humans on earth, the scourge of humanity, causing, and I quote, “a plague” on Canada. Seriously. Today, a Globe and Mail columnist once again assumes the role of One of Our Elite Betters. And thus, he sounds rabidly anti-American (like I mean he just hates America and Americans), like yet another smug Canadian who thinks Canada is oh so far above America in every way, he acts the big toughy but is hiding behind his newspaper and its lawyers and its cash (some of it taxpayers’) like a coward, he sets out to bully a young Olympian using his nasty bully pulpit in nearly the most negative way I can possibly imagine, and behaves as if being the irrepressible “polite Canadian” (a notion which summons barf) is The Most Important Thing On Ye Burning Earth, and then goes on (and on, and on) about the notion that… an athlete not wearing a mask is… “bad manners.” He betrays himself and his paper as utter jerks. GOLD MEDAL, Cathal Kelly!
