Unlike Dion and Layton talking points, these won’t be “reported” in our media, so…

image I get all the party newsletters.  Nearly every word of the far-left and even further left get “reported” by the media (see “Layton promises to be candidate of ‘change’”; or “Elizabeth May says it’s time to vote for a new party”; or this one which uniquely appears in the “CANADA”—i.e., the “news” section at CTV.ca instead of the political “ELECTION 2008” section:  “Dion attacks Harper’s ‘conservative ideology’”.

Meanwhile, the liberal media in Canada often cover Conservative Harper’s words with articles beginning with the likes of “Harper refuses to apologize for stating his idea that…” or the socialist chic “Harper won’t back down or apologize for his threat to lower taxes…”, or the ever so popular “‘Harper is like a Bush-luvin’ fire-breathing Neo-Con who hates people who aren’t rich and white and who hopes to enslave working families across the land!’ …says an unnamed spokesman for another party who shall remain nameless but let us assure you this is real, we are the media after all…”.  Or this actual one:  “PM talks the talk but doesn’t walk to Rideau Hall” (see actual screen-capture at left for actual examples from CTV in this case).

So here’s a news release from camp Harper in its full glory:

The election is on and Canadians face a clear choice.

A choice between strong leadership that’s on the side of ordinary Canadians or weak leadership that’s totally out-of-touch.

A choice between focused spending and lower taxes or wild spending and higher taxes; a choice between tough-on-crime or soft-on-crime; a choice between a strong Canada that stands up for its values and interests or a weak Canada that refuses to stand up and be counted; a choice between Stephen Harper and Stéphane Dion.

Over the past two and half years, Prime Minister Stephen Harper has delivered lower taxes, balanced budgets and strong economic management.  But all is now at risk with Stéphane Dion and his carbon tax, a half-baked plan that will destroy jobs and drive up the cost of gas, electricity and everything else.

We’ve all got too much at stake to let Stéphane Dion launch an unprecedented attack on our standard of living.  We need keep Canada on the right track by re-electing the Harper Government and giving them a new mandate in the next Parliament.

Over the next five weeks, the Liberals will do everything in their power to scare Canadians – just like they’ve done in each and every federal election.  We need to be able to fight back with first-rate advertising creative, heavy rotation media buys, a comprehensive national tour and targeted direct mail.

We are asking all of our loyal supporters if they can contribute $100 or $50 so that we can give this campaign a running start. Please, make a contribution of $100 or $50 right now by following this link and using our secure, on-line donations page.

It sort of reads like a typical liberal media article, only exactly the opposite in every political way.
