Meanwhile, Canada remains in 17th place, still going for that top-16 finish. We’re still tied with Ethiopia overall, but after yesterday’s victories, we’ve now edged out Belarus and Cuba for total medals. (I like NBC.com’s medal counter which places Canada at 13th right now instead of 17th, because they use total medal count instead of Golds as the ranker. And on that one. we’re just ahead of 14th place Cuba, and 15th place Belarus and miles ahead of Ethiopia. Go team.)
