MoveOn.org in “disaster” mode because “tax cuts for the rich” will remain in place

MoveOn.org has become unhinged — apoplectic — that the Democratic Party they claimed back in 2004 to own (here’s the actual quote: “Now it’s our party: we bought it, we own it, and we’re going to take it back.”) —is not going to raise taxes on “millionaires.”  (At least not this month).

Let’s read their email to me!

SUBJECT:  An absolute disaster

Dear MoveOn member,

Last night, President Obama announced that he’s giving in to the GOP and extending the Bush tax breaks for the rich.

The “deal” he’s proposing is an “absolute disaster,” as Senator Bernie Sanders said.

But it’s not a done deal. Leading Democrat Chris Van Hollen said yesterday that “House Democrats have not signed off on any deal,” and last night Senator Sanders vowed to “do whatever I can to see that 60 votes are not acquired to pass this piece of legislation.”

Senator Sanders and other progressives in the Senate are our best hope to stop this terrible deal. But Bernie can’t do it alone. …

(My highlighting)

“But Bernie can’t do it alone…”.  Poor old Bernie.

And here’s how Wikipedia explains the politics of MoveOn.org’s “progressive hero”, “Bernie”:

“Sanders is a self-described democratic socialist …  He is the first person elected to the U.S. Senate to identify as a socialist.”  (My highlighting)

MoveOn.org want you to sign a petition (yes, it’s another online petition, folks!), which reads:

“Sens. Feingold, Franken, Brown, Boxer, Merkley, Whitehouse, Durbin, Harkin, and Schumer: You are our progressive heroes and we need you now. Please join Sen. Bernie Sanders and do everything you can to block the ‘deal’ to extend the Bush tax bailout for millionaires.”

Please help their progressive heroes fundamentally transform America into a socialist state!

Not.
