Today’s headline in the Globe and Mail brings some relief, but go just as far as the sub-head and it suddenly turns frightening. A five to four decision? Not unanimous? And this is Canada rather than China?
I’ve read what the dissenting judges have said. And it scares the shit out of me. Thank God they lost. But the fact that it was this close should get all of our attention. A court in Canada just about ruled against comedy. THAT’s how close we are to losing our freedom of speech. Or freedoms. Our minds.
