Top 5 This Week

For example, NBC News is in an alternate reality: tea party wins = losses (kinda like soccer wins!)

I’m still laughing at yesterday’s example of the myriad fallacies contained within liberal-left thinking. (See: If ya win by more more than 5 points, we’ll count that as a loss, just to be “fair”!)

The blatantly liberal-left NBC News division of the Obama admin really kicked reality around yesterday, as they, like the rest of the liberal media, tried their hardest to downplay all aspects of the “tea party” and Sarah Palin victories in this week’s primaries.

This one is particularly funny because I’d just read the latest polling data (see bottom), then read this:

On Today Show: Dems Happy ‘Too Conservative’ Tea Party Candidate Won Primary
On Wednesday’s Today show NBC’s Matt Lauer, Chuck Todd and Kelly O’Donnell forwarded the Democratic line that Tea Party candidate victories in Republican primaries will be the GOP’s downfall in November.  First up Kelly O’Donnell, in a set up piece, claimed: “In Nevada, a big Tea Party victory in the GOP Senate primary…But Democrats are actually cheering Sharron Angle’s win, believing that a Tea Party candidate would be an easier opponent” for Majority Leader Harry Reid.  Then, during a post-election analysis segment with Today co-anchor Matt Lauer and NBC News’ political director Chuck Todd, Lauer wondered if the Angle win meant “Democrats have a right to be optimistic” as Todd chimed in that since Angle was “a little too conservative…to appeal to independents potentially” there is now a “path to victory” for Reid.

Here’s the polling facts today:

Election 2010: Nevada Senate
Nevada Senate: Angle 50%, Reid 39%
Thursday, June 10, 2010

Sharron Angle, following her come-from-behind Republican Primary win Tuesday, has bounced to an 11-point lead over Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in Nevada’s closely-watched U.S. Senate race.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Nevada, taken Wednesday night, shows Angle earning 50% support while Reid picks up 39% of the vote. Five percent (5%) like some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

… Voters not affiliated with either party prefer Angle by 10 points. …

By the egalitarian calculus of the liberal-far-left idiotocracy, Reid should be awarded the win.  Just to be fair.
