Students talk socialist; socialists push “radicalism”; Webster’s defines extremists as “radicals”

With the liberal-left, progressive media all on message these days, calling even barely moderate conservatives like Canada’s Conservative Party “extremists” (see a previous blog entry here), and also of course defining (glibly — as if it’s a scientific fact that has been “settled” and “the debate is over”) the “tea party” folks as “extremists” and perfectly nice normal folks like Sarah Palin as “extremists”, it was fun to watch (extremist) Glenn Beck’s program today on the (extremist) Fox News Channel when he brought up a call he’d received from an (extremist) female student on his (extremist) radio show earlier today, in which the (extremist) gal brought up talk of (perfectly normal) socialism on campus.  I added the Webster’s definition at the end:

So I wonder why the liberal-left media feels comfortable calling normal, Conservative Canadians “extremists” (and worse), but doesn’t call the you’ve got to be kidding party “extremists” and “radicals”.  Since they are.  How do they get away with calling them “left-leaning”, or “left of center”, or allowing them to define themselves as “progressive”, or not labeling them at?
