CBC: It’s a “bungle”! No it’s a “blunder”! Hang on: it’s a “gaffe”!

Just yesterday I had to update my Monday blog entry because the fair and balanced state-owned CBC Newsworld kept changing its mind about the Conservative government’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Bernier, and how to officially describe his, um, verbal malfunction

On Monday I showed you how Canada’s cable news networks—the state-owned one and the citizen-owned one against which they compete—instructed us to think of the Conservative Minister of Foreign Affairs’, um, verbal malfunction.

Liberalvision CTV called it a “blunder”.

The state-owned CBC (never one to bung-up anything!) called it a “bungle”.

Yesterday the state-owned media changed it:

So I guessed it was official:  We were to think of this as “blunder”.  (CBC had still refrained from adding “-gate” at the end however!  Wow!)

But d’oh!  Later yesterday, they changed it again on their “Politics” program, where, as we’re repeatedly told, “the spin stops here!”:

Still, we’re not yet told by the CBC, as they’ve instructed us in the past, to add a “-gate” after gaffe, as in “Harper Conservative Gaffe-Gate”.

So there now. It’s simply a gateless “diplomatic bungle blunder gaffe”.

Vote liberal and end all the diplomatic bungle blunder gaffes.
